[This is preliminary documentation and is subject to change.]

Represents the status of newline character processing by the terminal.

Namespace:  CursesSharp
Assembly:  CursesSharp (in CursesSharp.dll) Version: 1.0.0.0 (1.0.0.0)

Syntax

C#
public static bool Newlines { set; }
Visual Basic (Declaration)
Public Shared WriteOnly Property Newlines As Boolean
Visual C++
public:
static property bool Newlines {
	void set (bool value);
}

Field Value

Enables or disables processing of newline characters.

Remarks

Represents the status of newline character processing by the terminal, i.e. whether the underlying display device translates the return key into newline on input, and whether it translates newline into return and line-feed on output. In either case, the call Add('\n') does the equivalent of return and line-feed on the virtual screen.

Initially these translations do occur. If they are disabled, curses will be able to make better use of the line-feed capability, resulting in faster cursor motion. Also, curses will be able then to detect the return key.
